JEAN SHANNON
“MORE DANGEROUS”

I believe that Bush isn't the maker of the present situation but he acts like he is the maker.  He IS responsible, however, for what has been destroyed during his tenure.

He is more dangerous than Hitler because he is slowly reducing the democracy that has taken years to build.

Others have tried and failed.  I can only hope that there are brave people in the government who will overcome this group of destructionists.

Editor:   Shannon is responding to Dr. Jonas’ recent articles comparing Bush to Hitler:  "BUSH IS NOT HITLER, I” and "BUSH IS NOT HITLER, II"  We join Shannon in our fervent hope that brave citizens everywhere will counter the terrible weight of the anti-democratic forces that been unleashed by the radical Republican right.

DR. BILL PALICH
“THEOCORPORATOCRACY”

Dr. Jonas' term "theocratic fascism" is in complete because it doesn't include the real power behind the fascists, the corporate wealth.  The corrected term is "theocorporatist fascism" that has created a "theocorporatocracy."

The wealth and political power is so entrenched that it will take years of devoted effort for the US populace to regain its constitutional freedoms.  The year 2000 was when this effort had to begin so we have no cushion of time to fritter away.

Best wishes to liberty loving Americans.

DR. STEVEN JONAS

I couldn't agree more with Dr. Palich.  Thanks for reading, and thinking, with care and insight.

Corporatism is an integral part of my longer definition of fascism, with which the readers may not be familiar:

“Fascism is a politico-economic system in which there is: total executive branch control of both the legislative and administrative powers of government; no independent judiciary; no Constitution that embodies the Rule of Law standing above the people who run the government; no inherent personal rights or liberties; a single national ideology that first demonizes and then criminalizes all political, religious, and ideological opposition to it; and total corporate determination of economic, fiscal, and regulatory policy.”   (If you would like to see my longer definitions, please refer to my columns of May 27, 2004 “On Fascism -- And The Georgites,” of Jan 27, 2005 “Comparing George W. Bush and Adolf Hitler”, and of February 10, 2005, The Georgite Version of ‘Freedom and Democracy’.”)
