THREE JUNKIES
As readers can imagine, a lot of email is exchanged between Michael Carmichael, Dr. Steven Jonas and Junkie to put TPJ together each week. Most of the email relates to topics for TPJ, prioritizing issues and developing articles for TPJ.
Occasionally, the Three Junkies exchange “lighter views.” Today, we are giving readers a peek at one “behind the Junkie” email exchange that brought a lot of laughter and thought.
Dr. Steven Jonas initially wrote:
Now let me get this straight. A President lies
about a private extramarital affair with a consenting adult, gets impeached for
it, and has this to say:
"Clinton sees the Lewinsky affair as ''a terrible moral error'' whose disclosure
to his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, put him ''in the doghouse.''
''I did something for the worst possible reason. Just because I could,'' Clinton
says of his infidelity. ''I think that's just about the most morally
indefensible reason anybody could have for doing anything.''
A President lies about the reasons for sending the nation into war, killing
hundreds of Americans and tens of thousands of Iraqis, making the US an outcast
among the nations of the world, and spending untold billions, and not only
doesn't apologize but continues to insist that he was telling the truth and
absolutely doing the right thing.
Ah well.
Michael Carmichael responded:
Well observed, as usual.
Another format for your thesis: One president commits a felony (perjury) about a
misdemeanor (adultery, fornication, whatever) and gets impeached.
Another president commits massive vote fraud and
conspiracy to assume power, then he commits serial perjury, conspiracy and fraud
as he sends hundreds of Americans to their deaths based on his perjury, in
support of his conspiracy, and to the financial benefit of his party, driving
America into trillions of dollars of new debt and plunging the economy into a
four year long tailspin, while insulting every other sovereign nation on our
planet (including our best ally, Britain) ruining the reputation of America for
centuries to come and inciting the world to a clash of civilizations in an
insane religious war, and he has the gall to beg for a second illegitimate term
in office.
It's as if we have all (three of us) awakened inside an Orwellian nightmare, and
we are attempting to awaken the other 300 million Americans to the fact that
they are living through a hellishly stupendous pornographic tragedy that they
can swiftly end by voting the president out of power - but only very few will
listen to, much less believe our pleas.
(When I wake me up, please, remind me where the polls are, and whether any more
of the people are beginning to hear our cries in the wilderness.)
Junkie concludes:
I’m typing TPJ as fast as I can.
